Security Service Federal Credit Union takes pride in helping families understand the importance of saving for the future.  Those efforts were recently recognized with an official Designation of Savings Excellence awarded by the America Saves program.

In February, Security Service used Military Saves Week as a way to educate military members and their families on ways to save for the future and boost their financial freedom.  Those efforts are what caught the attention of the National America Saves program and earned Security Service the Designation of Excellence for going above and beyond to promote good savings behavior. 

“We were particularly impressed with Security Service’s use of branch promotions, social media and its call center in promoting savings,” said Christiane Gigi Hyland of the National Credit Union Foundation and chair of the credit union selection committee for America Saves.

This was the first year such a distinction was given and only a handful of credit unions across the country were honored recently in Washington, D.C. 

“It’s fulfilling to know the work we do is helping military members achieve financial security and a better future for their families,” said Jim Laffoon, president and CEO of Security Service. 
The credit union promoted Military Saves Week throughout the three states it serves; Texas, Colorado and Utah.
