The Citizen Committees approved 173 projects and presented their recommendations for City Council’s consideration. City Council added seven projects and approved 180 projects to be included in the May 6, 2017 Bond election.
The $850 million proposed Bond Program is divided into six propositions:
Streets, Bridges & Sidewalks Improvements Drainage & Flood Control Improvements
64 Projects/ $445.263 M 19 Projects/ $138.988 M
Parks, Recreation & Open Space Improvements Library & Cultural Facilities
79 Projects/$187.313 M 13 Projects/$24.025 M
Public Safety Facilities Improvements Neighborhood Improvements
5 Projects/$34.411M Numerous/$20.000 M
The City of San Antonio's property tax rate increase is NOT planned to fund the proposed 2017– 2022 Bond Program. The City’s current debt service property tax rate is projected to be sufficient to fund the debt service payments for the program.
