Microsoft, Morgan’s Wonderland Announce Collaboration, Unveil Microsoft Experience

SAN ANTONIO – Microsoft Store and Morgan’s Wonderland today unveiled the new Microsoft Experience at Sensory Village, featuring the latest in Microsoft technology and new interactive experiences for people with disabilities.

Sensory Village, featuring areas with interactive play elements designed to stimulate the senses, became an instant hit when unique, ultra-accessible™ Morgan’s Wonderland theme park opened in 2010, however with the passage of time, the Village’s electronics and technology have become dated.

“We at Microsoft Store share a passion with Morgan’s Wonderland for accessibility and inclusion,” said Kara Rowe, Microsoft Store Director of Visuals & Experiences.  “As part of Microsoft’s mission to empower everyone on the planet to achieve more, we are proud to support Morgan’s Wonderland with technology-driven experiences at the Microsoft Experience at Sensory Village.”

The Microsoft Experience at Sensory Village is outfitted with Microsoft technology, including:
  • A new, interactive gaming area that includes Xbox One X experiences with Xbox Adaptive Controllers, a unified hub for devices that help make gaming more accessible for gamers with limited mobility, and Xbox Game Pass providing access to over 100 great games;
  • Microsoft Surface devices connected to the park’s interactive map, showing guests the favorite attractions of the Wonder Squad, Morgan’s Wonderland super heroes;
  • A Wish Machine, powered by Surface Studio, where Morgan’s Wonderland guests can submit their most-inspiring wish by Dec. 20 for a chance to have their wish granted.
To help inaugurate the Microsoft Experience at Sensory Village, students from The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland tried out the newly-installed technology.

“We are profoundly grateful to Microsoft Store for granting our wish for new technology,” said Gordon Hartman, CEO of The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, which created Morgan’s Wonderland, Morgan’s Inspiration Island splash park, The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland and other initiatives to help the special-needs community. “Microsoft desires to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, and we certainly share that desire.”

The Microsoft Store and Morgan’s Wonderland collaboration involved many individuals, including the Microsoft San Antonio datacenter and local Microsoft Stores, which have been involved with Morgan’s Wonderland as volunteers and in the community.
