Proceeds benefit Ken Flores, candidate for Rey Feo and the Rey Feo Scholarship Fund. This year, three prominent businessmen, including Ken Flores – CEO of Allegiance Environmental Services, are raising money for the privilege to serve as El Rey Feo - “The People’s King” during Fiesta and throughout the year of reign as an ambassador advancing higher education and service to one’s community.
The candidate raising the most money between now and October is declared next year’s Rey Feo, with the runners-up serving as a crown designate for each of the following two years. Each candidate must raise a minimum of $225,000 to qualify - and more than 85% of the money raised goes to the direct delivery of scholarships benefiting San Antonio area youth across 60 high schools.
Ken is dedicated to serving his community, advancing education, practicing good stewardship and wellness. He is an alumnus of Mount Sacred Heart School, Tom C. Clark High School, and St. Mary’s University. He is also an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic parish, the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce board of directors and the Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation, which supports the educational activities of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Rey Feo Scholarship Inc. program, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that has raised more than $5 million for scholarships - books and tuition, awarded to more than 3,000 area students.
