Ranch Hand Truckfitters Stores to Host Donation Drop for Devastation in Wimberley

The Ranch Hand Truckfitters stores in San Antonio and Boerne, Texas, are hosting a donation drop for those affected by the flood that took place over Memorial Day Weekend in Wimberley, Texas.
 
Saturday night, the Blanco River rose over 12 feet in thirty minutes at the sensing station in Wimberley. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed, and the flood has displaced at least one thousand people.
 
There are many people without homes, food and other necessities. Many efforts have been set up in Wimberley to help those that are currently in need.
 
Ranch Hand Truckfitters wants to help the community of Wimberley by being an outlet to people who want to donate but are unable to bring items to the affected area. The Truckfitters stores in San Antonio and Boerne invite anyone who wants to help those affected by the flood to drop off any food, clothes or monetary donations at our stores at 2625 Broadway in San Antonio and 32954 IH 10 West in Boerne. The stores will take a truck to Wimberley on Friday, May 29, and drop off all of the donations at a local donation station.

The heavy rains and flooding took place over Memorial Day Weekend 2015. “Communities in Hays County began issuing reverse 911 notifications to residents to let people know of the growing danger after hours of heavy rains Saturday. The heavy rain that fell in parts of Blanco County fell in the Blanco River Watershed. The Blanco River rose as much as 12 feet in 30 minutes at the sensing station in Wimberley. Before the station went offline around 1 a.m. Sunday, the river was reported at 40.21 feet. Flood stage for the Blanco River at Wimberley is listed at 13 feet, and the historic high water mark was 33.3 feet, set on May 28, 1929” (http://www.kvue.com/story/weather/2015/05/25/memorial-weekend-2015-storm/27914487/). After severe damage and destruction to homes and businesses, many relief efforts are set up at local stations in Wimberley to help those affected by the flood. The town of Wimberley and surrounding towns are coming together to help with clean up and donations.
