SAMMinistries to Host 17th Annual Empty Bowls at Southwest School of Art

Who/What/When:
In conjunction with the San Antonio Potters Guild and the San Antonio Glass Art Guild, SAMMinistries will host the 17th Annual Empty Bowls on Sunday, March 5, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southwest School of Art, 300 Augusta Street. The event features one-of-a-kind handcrafted bowls that guests can take home for $20. For each bowl purchased, guests will enjoy delicious soup and bread from local restaurants, hotels, and caterers.

Celebrity bowls from SAMMinistries President and CEO Navarra Williams, Mayor Ivy Taylor, KEN5 Meteorologist Paul Mireles, and more will be available at a silent auction.

“I look forward to this event every year,” said Williams. “The soup, the bowls, the location and everyone out to support SAMMinistries really shows the compassion of the San Antonio community.”

Aside from the opportunity to reflect on the tremendous needs of our community, Empty Bowls has raised more than $400,000 since 2000 in support of SAMMinistries programs which provide housing and supportive services for homeless families in San Antonio.

SAMMinistries’ 2017 Fiesta Medals will also be available at the event, as well at the Fiesta Store and Furniture For A Cause by SAMMinistries, 5254 Blanco Road.
