SWBC Proudly Supports WISH for OUR HEROES and Ride Texas

As part of their commitment to veterans and the military community, SWBC is proud to support WISH for OUR HEROES to promote a cycling event called Ride Texas. Ride Texas is a multi-day cycling event that begins in Wichita Falls and ends in Corpus Christi. The team of 24 riders, most of them wounded veterans, makes this tremendous trek across Texas covering 500 miles over five days to raise funds and awareness for WISH for OUR HEROES.

The cyclists will stop in San Antonio for a rally on November 10 at Toyota Field. This is the first time they have stopped in the Alamo City, and SWBC is encouraging the entire San Antonio community to come out to support these fearless cyclists and our nation’s heroes. SWBC’s very own spokespeople, Tony Parker and Becky Hammon, of the San Antonio Spurs, will be attending the event to honor our military heroes, and a wish will be granted to a local veteran.

WISH for OUR HEROES is an organization dedicated to assisting the men and women of the United States active-duty military, and in some cases, veterans. They prioritize granting basic needs wishes or emergencies first—anything from food and clothing to assisting with car repairs, home repairs, baby supplies, etc. When basic needs are met, they also enjoy granting fun wishes such as sending the troops to athletic events, sending them on vacations to get re-acquainted after deployments, meeting celebrities, and more.
