About the Company: IBTX Risk Services is an independent agency developing and delivering innovative strategies and relationships to manage risk and improve profitability. IBTX works for their clients by providing multiple Enterprise Risk Management Services including surety bonds, commercial and personal insurance lines, employee benefits, safety and loss control services, wealth management, human resources consulting and claims advocacy. Katie manages the recruiting and employee relations functions within the organization. She is responsible for multiple duties including strengthening employee retention and development, working to grow IBTX’s talent pool in the risk management field and institute automation within the HR area in the company.

About the Program: The Leadership Lab Alumni Association is an unincorporated affiliate of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and serves the alumni of the North SA Chamber Leadership Lab program by supporting and fostering the relationships developed by participation in Lab; providing alumni ongoing opportunities for leadership development and the establishment of new business and personal relationships; providing support and resources to Lab participants and to Association members; enhancing the image and visibility of Lab and alumni in the community; and marketing association members to other business members of the Chamber.

Personally Speaking: “My journey with the North Chamber began in 2013 with the Leadership Lab, BEST CLASS EVER! I knew right away that the North Chamber would become a passion of mine,” says Katie. Before Lab ended, Katie was nominated to be a part of the Leadership Lab Alumni Board for 2014. Fortunately, she was selected to be on the Board and once on the Board, she was elected as Vice-President. Katie will have the pleasure of being President of this fantastic group of Leadership Lab Alumni in 2015 and she is also an active member on the North Chamber Golf Committee as of 2014. “I really could go on and on, but I will just say that the Chamber connects so many great leaders from every company and every industry!” says Katie. “The Chamber is who helped me to become the leader I am today and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an awesome organization!”
