Give Cancer the Boot, a 2.6-mile fun run/walk, will be held Saturday, March 24, at the Mays Cancer Center, the newly named center at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mays Cancer Center, 7979 Wurzbach Road. The race begins at 9 a.m. and parking is free.
Give Cancer the Boot is open to all cancer survivors, family members, friends and the community. Cancer survivors will be treated to free entry, a free gift, and a complimentary massage and make-over following the race. Children’s activities include face painting, games, bubble blowing, a fruit walk, bean bag toss and more.
Local cancer survivors will have the opportunity to tell their stories, and families will be invited to sign a “survivor board” to share who they are honoring with their participation. A food truck and community organizations with free health information will be available.
Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Proceeds will support the Mays Cancer Center’s Patient and Family Fund.

All walkers and runners are asked to register online at GiveCancerTheBootSA.com. Cancer survivors and children under age 12 are free. Registration for other runners and walkers is $20 ($25 on race day).
